Escape From Soviet France – To Russia!

French Actor Gerard Depardieu Meets With Russian President Vladimir Putin!

In The Communist Manifesto of 1848, Karl Marx called for a heavy and progressive income tax. And in 2013 French actor Gerard Depardieu moved from France to avoid the Marxist-inspired 75% tax rate on wealthy citizens. And to where did he move? Did he relocate to America? No, not with open hostility for the “rich” spewing daily from an Obama White House that is instigating endless Marxist class warfare! No, Gerard Depardieu did not relocate to an America where the president is taxing, borrowing, and spending other people’s money like a madman obsessed with governmental power!

Instead, Gerard Depardieu relocated to Russia – the birthplace of communism where the people now enjoy a 13% flat tax! Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin decreed Russian citizenship upon this famous French “refugee.” Clearly, in terms of revenue generation, the French government, like the American government, is now more Marxist than the Russian government! When adding together federal, state, county, and city taxes, many Americans now pay well above 50% in taxes. For example, California resident and professional golfer Phil Mickelson says he pays 62% to 63% in taxes when disability, unemployment, and Social Security are included in the calculation.

According to Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990, “There can be no liberty unless there is economic liberty.” Based on this standard, many Americans have truly lost most of their economic liberty – in a nation that was once called “The land of the free…”

As noted elsewhere on this blog, like Frenchman Gerard Depardieu, some Americans are abandoning their homeland for more tax-friendly nations. Also noted elsewhere on this blog, the European Union, which contains the nation of France, has been described as “The New Soviet Union of Europe.” Yes, sadly, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction!
